Diff Question

I just got my third Jeep.  I was wondering how do you tell what type of differental you have on your Jeep?

odds are if you told us the specs on your jeep some one here would tell you what it should have in it asuming it is stock parts.

My Jeep is a 2004 Wrangle X it has the 4.0L engine with a AEM Brute Force induction system.  It also has other mods that are more body than any thing else.  It does have Summit Diff guards.  I do not really think the past owner did any thing other that the looks stuff.

most likely you have a dana 30 front and a dana 35 rear.
I do not think that a 44 was offered to the "X"

Thanks to both of you guys for the info.  Now all I need to do is figure out what type of lockers are going to the best in my Jeep.

You've got a 30 in front and I do believe you could get an X with a 44 in the rear. Metal fill plug is easy way to tell if it's a 44 in back if it's 35 rubber fill plug.  

I'll second ARB's but a pocket locker like LockRight is cheaper and is a good choice on a budget.
