We are looking at purchasing a Chrysler WiTECH system at the shop. This is the exact same system that all Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat/etc. dealers use every day to diagnose, flash and program the electronics on newer vehicles. This would be most useful for people with 07+ systems that run on the CANBUS. It would give us the ability to do anything that the dealer can (Update TSBs, Recalls, adjust tire size, change config settings and very detailed diagnostics).
The downside is that it costs thousands for the equipment.
My question is: would OJTers have a need for an independent shop like ours to use this equipment, or would you rather take it to a dealer when you need something like that?
