CopyRight Laws?
« on: 07/14/06 - 03:04PM »
Does anyone know alot about CopyRight laws? I'm needing some info about making some stuff and giving it away for free, but charging a Shipping and Handling fee. Like having stickers of Logo's made. Is there a problem with making them and giving them away for free, And charging the customer for Shipping and Handling fees?

From the stuff I have found you can copy write a song and art work but not a slogan unless it is brand specific.  There is also tm and patents.  Patents are for inventions and tm are for brand names.  I am in the process of doing this for all my sayings for tshirts and stickers.  I have found that if you write them all down and amil them to yourself it will hold up in court if someone ever tries to take your idea.  you have to keep it sealed though.  Hope this helps.

Here's a link to the gov. site for all trades, copy, and patents.
