I bought a new to me YJ yesterday. Some members have already seen pics etc but I thought I'd make a thread. I can't really call it a build thread since it's been built at least 3 times prior.
Pics to come this evening.

Rear: 79 Ford Dana 60 5.13's Spool, disc conversion.
Suspension: SOA with RE SOA springs, conferr shackles, long travel shocks with tube mounts.

If you can't figure out why the project name then I have no hope for you.
I washed while on the trailer and took about 60lbs of mud off the skid plate. The only areas not packed solid were where the driveshafts were. So why buy this thing you ask... easy I couldn't build the axles, tires, and wheels for what I gave for it.
Plans:
Fix body damage with full corners, body hammers, and some filler. Then spray with a more eye catching color.
Need a new windshield and frame
Plan to swap 37" boggers for 39+ something.

Don't forget the flip-flop! :icon_pimp:

YAYA.
TOday got the front bumper cleaned up and now it's all black. Also swapped to a new roller fairlead.

Ordering these for corners later this evening. Normally I buy BTF but for $204 for full corners I'm going to give them a shot and will plasma them to comp corners when I stretch it.

Got the old Poison Spyder short corners off and headed for the freebie/scrap pile.
The pile of dirt came from the rear corners and tailgate. Can't believe this thing is so muddy and yet rust free.

Are you going to dovetail it? :deadhorse:
-
Nope. This one is probably going to get minimal body work to make it look ok down the road and a single stage paint job. I still plan to wheel it and with the group up here that means beat on it. Just needs to start a bit nicer.
-
Here is the bosses work in progress (what I have to run with when done). Not bad for a tub and frame we drug out of the field 2 or 3 weeks ago.
46" claws on 15x14 wheels+ DIY beadlock.

Better own one hell of a charger for a crayola battery... :deadhorse:

My garage isn't the black hole of electricity! Worst case I do have at least 1 if not 2.
-
I dig your bosses rig, mine is almost a mini version down to the sticky mickies. =))

LOL. Looking very good, seriously.
-
Rig is coming farther apart. So far seats and a lot of interior is out and way more mud removed. Planning to herculine the floor before I reassemble.
Rear seat was welded in. WHO DOES THAT?
Sold the tires & wheels off the jeep so now I'm in need of something bigger.
-
Rear seat was welded in. WHO DOES THAT?
Brad does.
-
Brad's isn't welded in. Hell he put a lift kit on his.
This one was welded in 6 spots yet still bolted in 2. WTF?
-
Not Brads. He welded 2 kids racing seat in Jay's. Thou I thing they are weld to a crossbar that is bolted in. Sounds like who every did was doing so presidential enginering.
-
The seats are bolted to the bracket. Bracket bolted to jeep. Can have the out in a matter of minutes. Brad did an awesome job designing and fabbing them.
-
Mine was welded to a bracket... that was in turn welded to the floor! Not quite sure what I'm going to do to remount this seat.
-
Brad's stuff is always top rated. It is to bad he can't just open his own shop. 8)
Jay, I seen your jeep Fri night and the seats looked great.
Aaron, I'm surprised that you would even run a backseat.
-
Street jeep man!
I run a rear seat for street and things like Halloween run where more the merrier and nothing risky. If I'm going hardcore than rear seat usually comes out.
Right now finding new tires is a priority since I can't even move the jeep now.
-
The bosses jeep on all 4 with most of the tube work done. Just have to build a cage.

Smittybilt corners are here and look good. However I'm going to sell them or cut them up since a stretch is in my future. Hell I have to trim just to clear tires now.
Herculiner is also ready to be put in.
