HAVE A RED TOP THAT HASN'T LASTED A YEAR.  WOUNDERING IF A YELLOW TOP WOULDN'T BE BETTER FOR USE OF WINCH AND LIGHTS.

Don't they have a one year warranty?
I've heard of a lot people burning up reds lately.

WHAT ABOUT PRO COMPS SUPER HDX? THEY ARE EVEN A LITTLE CHEAPER THAN OPTIMAS. AND HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING A HIGH OUTPUT ALT. TO HELP WITH ALL THE POWER DRAW FROM YOUR LIGHTS AND WINCH?

my red top made it about 2.5 years no problems at all then all at once it was toast. I got a free replacement though. I think the yellow thats in the rubie is a little stronger it seems on the winching. it does not seem to draw down as fast.

My red top has been nothing but a pain in my ass.  If it sits for any amount of time it dies.  It does seem to have plenty of umph to winch, though, and when it's fully charged & driven 4 or 5 times a week, it does great.

My red top dies after 3 or 4 months of sitting too...
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

talked to optima today, they said if volts ever get below 10.5 alternator won't charge up correctly.  they said to hook a good battery to red top with jumper cables and then charge, 2 amp trickle charge will take 28 hours to fully charge battery.  sound like horse sh** to me.  found a buddy to get it warrantied and swap out for yellow top.  optima also told me I had the wrong battery for my application because I have a winch I need a yellow top, red tops are designed for starting only, when they even do that.  have a new yellow top sometime next week, planning on making the meeting and greet.
