auto tranny question

so I noticed a clunking sound in my transmission it is only happening when it down shift from third some times it hits hard enough you can feel it. any thoughts? I am not getting any slippage in the forward gears and I am sure it needs a fluid change.

I have had bad u-joints click before.  Loose or broken motor/trans/transfer case mounts maybe?  I have been low on trans fluid before and had them slip the catch hard.  Good luck.
