There's another good recommendation. I love my Toyo's.

Why E rated Jimmy?

10-ply sidewall. Less likely to slice open on the rocks.

yep what Ross said... tougher (more plys), less likely to get sidewall gashed on trail, and they last ALOT longer.

Sooo. I think I'm going to take goldswim5's advice and wait on the tires. I had 2 spare 31's that I put on the front and went on the Tax day run. Since pretty much everyone was running at least 33's I'm thinking I will get a 3" or 4" lift hooked up and then move to the 33's. Glad I waited and went on a run before buying.

Do you guys running 33 x 12.50's use 8" wide wheels or 10"?

Lift suggestions? I saw on old poll that says Rubicon Express was what guys voted the most popular, but that was like 6 years old.

i run 33x10.50 mts on the factory 8 inch wheels. and i only run a 3 inch lift. i found its best to piece the lift together and pick the parts you want. i have rancho adjustable shocks, currie adjustable control arms, and rustys 3 inch springs. at 3 inches you are likely to not need the tc drop. i also have a 1.25 jks bl waiting to go on.

let me know if you wanna come over to put the lift on again.

I've read less than stellar things about that vendor.  May want to do a little checking before you hand them any money.

I'M running the RC 4" Flex lift kit and like it real well, I've had it on for a year now with no problems. But for just a few hundred more bucks you could go with this kit  http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_tj_4xla.html

Thanks Mrfast. I think that $1400 one is worth more than my Jeep! Did u get the 2.2 shocks or the standard ones. I'll need the SYE and Cv as well since I don't have a Rubicon like u? ;-)

there's always that phrase 'for just a few hundred more' 8)

LOL, man I know $$$$$ it's a never ending battle. Yes I did get the 2.2 shock upgrade. Just remember if you order anything from Rough Country tell them your a member of www.jeepforum.com and they will knock 10% off your order--that will help pay for the 2.2 shocks if you want them.

On my old 97 Jeep Sport I went with a Full Traction 3" lift and a 1" body lift and was happy with that setup as well. With that combination I didn't have to get a sye or cv rear drive shaft and I had plenty of room for 33's. I also didn't have to drop my transfer case and didn't have any vibrations---seems like every other Jeep is a little different though.
http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=13089    Price has sure gone up since I bought this kit!

More info from Jeep Forum   http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/give-rough-country-chance-new-4-x-flex-system-682034/

I'M sure you will hear good and bad about any brand of lift kit, and I'm still learning also--- it's a tough choice getting the most bang for the buck! :)

thanks for the input fellas. i've been wasting spending ridiculous amounts of time reading up on lift options.

I think since I need tires and want to go with 33s ($800+) and need a lift to get there I'm thinking about doing one of these instead of the X series from RC. Baby steps, baby steps. Also think it's easier to convince my wife, that I need tires and lift (new shocks) and that price tag is $1200 instead of $2500.

I think the combo with the BL is nice because no Tcase drop is required. Also going to get steering stabalizer and sway bar discos. Any other suggestions? Motor Mount Lift?

I had a set of these on my 97 Jeep, not sure how they compare with the other brands but I liked these and there made in the USA!
