tire coverage laws

what is the law in missouri regarding tire coverage? im wanting some tube fenders that dont have a full flare. this is my daily driver, and dont want the man pullin me over due to tires stickin out past the fender.

I think it's around 3". Never been pulled over tho, and I pull trailers w/o fenders.

It depends on how long the trailer is whether or not you have to have fenders on it.  A small utility trailer I think less than 10' doesn't have to have fenders.  I'm not sure MO has a tire coverage law.  I think based on GVW there is a mud flap/ rock guard requirement though.
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

I know, I was referring to the post just above mine about the trailer fenders.

Just call the license bureau and ask, or an inspection station or the Highway Patrol.

Found this that might help.  It doesn't say anything specific about tire coverage except for the mud flaps.

Missouri doesn't but I know some counties do have tire coverage.  Jefferson county stopped me once but I was full width under toyota and the whole 12.5" were sticking out.  The mud flaps are as stated above for high GVWR vehicles.

thanks for the info guys! so it looks like i will hopefully have some phantom fenders soon!!!
