head question

going to use a rebuilt shortblock 258 (late 70-80s), came w/ the plastic valve cover 6-8 bolts. I have a rebuilt 90 model head w/ aluminum valve cover 16 bolt, can I use this newer head, appears to be same? thanks!

based on my experience and knowledge, as long as the block had a plastic valve cover(81-86), you can put the 87-90 head on with no problem.
