Got the okay from the wife after Saturday to start building the jeep when we get some stuff paid down/off. After thinking about it and looking at things, I think this will be a two stage build.
Stage one is going to be full cage, with the rear being set up for an eventually cutting the tub off ala "back half". Upgraded suspension probably custom long arm setup, taller springs.
Stage two (which will be once I have a tow rig as this won't be streetable) will be axles and final suspension. Probably going with Mog portals, not sure if I will do rear steer or not. For a TJ, a Front Ford D60 isn't much cheaper than a full front (rebuilt) Mog. Plus, with Mogs I can achieve the same ground clearance as 44s on 40s. Probably keep the same drivetrain (at least the 4 cyl and ax5 for now) until I finally upgrade to sm465 and atlas later on). Air shocks all around to keep the suspension nice and simple. I thought about all sorts of axle/suspension setups, but a 4 link is hard to beat.
