thats a tough one? the trails are not super hard, but it is not a gravel road either. there will be off camber and rock ledges, washouts possibly creeks steep hill climbs ect.....
I do wish I got my daughter started wheeling sooner than I did, I just am not sure if I would have had her out at 8 weeks but that is a parenting decision.
by the way congratulation

If the weather cooperates, I'd love to get the new jeep out. Couple questions though:

How far is the drive?

What does it cost, other than gas, food, etc.?

I need to be back in Springfield by 2pm. Will that work out?

Thanks

It doesn't cost anything to go run, it's all through the national forest.  From WalMart on West Bypass and Sunshine it is about an hour and a half drive.  By the time you factor a quick gas up before hitting the trails, figure closer to two hours.  I was down marking some new trails last Sunday that the club hasn't ran before (we don't think any way) and the water is up a little, but the most I ran into was about bumper level.  It is a little muddy in places, as you can imagine, and the rock ledges are a little slippery.  The one thing is be prepared to possibly come back with some "Ozark Pinstriping"  There is some overgrowth in places...nothing terrible though.

According to the website www.weather.com the high will be in the mid 40's and for a low in the high 20's with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. So it will be a great day to hit the trail probably the best for this week. So I will see you saturday.

as long as the roads are not bad Sat. morning. this run will be a GO.
if it dumps on us tonight and making the trip down there treacherous
I will call it of. just be advised that with the snow and ice in the trees that are already hanging in the trails that the chances of pin stripping just went up.

We can not make it.  Boss says to be at work at 5:00 to spread salt over everything that re-freezes to night.

THOSE LEAVING FROM BRANSON WEST:
I will not be able to lead the way.  Either meet the group in springfield, or the trip is very easy to do on your own.
Take hwy 86 west to Eagle Rock.  Go all the way through Eagle Rock to Hwy E.  Fallow hwy E to Hwy M.  Turn LEFT.  about 2 or 3 miles up the road you will cross a bridge, there is a gravel parking lot less then a 1/4 mile up the road on your right.  THAT is the place.

Have fun, and I am directing you all to take lots of pics!
