jeep TJ idling really low

last couple of days, my TJ has had its' RPM's dropping down to 250RPM's and rattling/shaking like it's going to stall whenever i drop into neutral on my way to stopping. it's died a couple of times not sure what's going on.

it usually idles around 1000RPM.

wanted to get some thoughts before I thought about taking it in to have it looked at.

i would start with looking at the fuel filter, unfortunetly (sp) it is in the tank. have you replaced plugs and wires since you have had it?

I'd also look at your IAC (idle air control) valve .....is the check engine light on

Mines doing the same thing stall on me several times at SMORR Sat, only mine is throwing a code. Going to have it read this week hope to get it figured out. Its hard to 4 wheel with right now.

well. I need to wait till i'm low on gas to check out the fuel filter. i read in the haynes manual that the TJ's have it in the tank. thanks for the heads up Brian. which wires do you mean?

I haven't had any other that stuff replaced yet since I bought it.

Also, I couldn't find IAC in my Haynes Jeep manual. where is the idle air control valve?
