I AM LOOKING FOR INPUT, THOUGHTS, ECT. ON HOW TO MAKE MY OWN OUTBOARD SPRING RELOCATION KIT FOR THE FRONT OF MY CJ7. I NEED SOME BRACKET SUGESTIONS FOR THE REAR SPRING HANGER ON THE FRONT END.

piece of angle 1/4 in works good with gussets

I put a set of 1982 Wagoneer axles under my 1976 CJ7. The Waggy axles are 4 inches wider and I found a couple of sites that showed how to outboard the springs. I'll try to find them for you. I also put the Waggy power steering, 727 auto tranny, and 208 transfer under it. The front is a 44 and the rear is a 20. I Know, "OOh, A 20!" But this baby came with one piece axles and the tubes are bigger that the CJ7's 20 tubes. I love this set up. It drives great and handles like a dream. I have a J10 that has a 400 Turbo and both 44s that I'm hoping to put in something one of these days.

I used 3/8 angle welded to the frame and then gusseted it.

. I surfed the net till I found several sites that showed how to outboard the springs. Most are similar. I used 3/8 angle with two gussets each. It wasn't all that difficult once I decided what I wanted. I bolted mine to the frame in case I wanted to change something, but I'm pleased with it so far. The rear axle didn't have to be outboarded. The perches only had to be moved. I really like the wide axles. It's very stable and drives better than any jeep I've owned.

Please copy me on the best website for this info. I have a 73 Commando V8 that I would like to put Waggy axles under. I have several sets of them.
Thanks,
Jesse

I've tried this twice and it didn't work. Here it goes again. I found a site I used to get ideas for mine. This is pretty close and I've been happy with it. Go to page 3. The site is http://angelfire.com/wi/mikeswwwsite/soa/axles.html Hope this helps.
