I chose Trail Riding with no carnage.  That's just what I figure I would like the most, since I've never been on a trail before.  Mudding isn't really my thing either, and I'd rather not risk doing something that has the most chance for damaging my Jeep since I'm a bit short on money, and I use it as a daily driver.

I figure once I get out in the real world though, I plan on getting into rock crawling.  :agree:

Well I like rock crawling.  I have done it all and mud does alot more damage than rocks ever thought about.  A sratch here and there is alot better than loosing a clutch or u joints because of mud and water but thats just my opinion.

Ya, I don't understand the carnage ratings you put up there.  Depending on how hard you push it a lot more damage can come from trail rides and mud than rocks.  I hate having to worry about leaning into a tree on a trail ride and destroying my top if it is on.  If the hardtop busts that is a couple thousand dollars.  If an axle, u-jont, or driveshaft breaks on the rocks that is a $25-$200 fix max.

Love basic "Jeepin", mud, rough terrain trails, etc.

Can't afford carnage!

Budget is too tight!

It's all good and depends on your skill and craziness what it will cost you.  Mud cost me an alternator and radiator.  Rock cost me a tie rod tube, lower control arm mounts.  On a trail you never know what you'll hind and it can always be different.  Trails haven't cost me anything yet, but we'll see after a weekend at Superlift.  What's the point if there's no challange, hell just stay on the road if that's your opinion.

Does dragging a 16' trailer (with car) up narrow back country roads/goat paths and smacking bluffs/rock outcroppings and trees count?

I guess I view off-roading differently than most people, I do own a '84 XJ sport (which I love) I use for trailriding with the family. My real passion is ROCKCRAWLING, constantly pushing the envolope, doing things that dont comply with the laws of phisycs, hanging out with the people who have a passion for this sport as you do, stomping an insane set of obstacles with people on both sides cheering for you and your home built buggy.   Im not saying you have to go out and bash your rig in to have alotta fun, and please stay within your limits, but do find them.

Mud is fun but messy and a terd to clean up!

Trail riding with little damage leads for a peaceful ride home...while thinking..."that trip was worth it, no extra costs and I had a blasts!"

Trail riding with carnage can be another thing....if I can still find a way home, considering the Jeep is the DD then it just puts more stress on my college life, which isn't good.

Right now with gas prices and college I don't find that much time for wheeling but in the summers time.
