in this pic, i am trying to figure out if i can do a spreader on each side from the 180 to corners of windshield bars. the headroom will be very close, so i will give em a small bend, just gotta play with it and get it right.
tell me what u think? i am looking for ideas on how to tie rear part of cage to b pillar, either some simple spreaders or??

what are your numbers looking like for your AS and stuff for your rear?

i can get many many different kinds of link mounts to make your job easier. email me and ill send you some pics of the link mounts i used on my toyota fj40 link suspension.

they really help and make linking a suspension easier especially since yj frames are already boxed

i played with the calc some and when i changed numbers it really didnt change much, icant remember what the AS was.
as for mounts, thanks for the offer, but i have a place here in town, Kings Offroad, he plasma cut my beadlocks and i will be getting my link tabs from him.

Beadlocks look great man.....

Give me a call or stop by the shop and we'll get your link mount situation taken care of and whatever else tubing you'll need.

AS is your anti squat.  that is a pretty important factor in building your rear end.

before building your links and such, go onto pirate 4x4 and search for the links for dummies thread.

linking is easy, but if you dont know why you are linking it or how it will react, it can turn into an exspensive nightmare.

that will tell you your link length, positioning and adjustmants that may be needed.

also if you make your link mounts with multiple holes on each end you can adjust your AS from 100% upto around 150%.  also you will know your roll resistance and so forth.

i would recommend your study that thread alot before you jump into your linking project.

thats just a little advice. i have heard of other peoples exspensive nightmares from thinking they know something more than they really do and not adhearing to others advices

thanks for that i guess, but i already know all that,
i wouldnt be doing this if i didnt know what i was doing.
when u asked what my AS was, i couldnt remember the number, not what it meant.
i am no link expert, but i have played with the calc alot and came up with my own design, based on shaffer's offroad buggies.
basically parallel lowers (mild angle to them)
and tri uppers. i dont know if yall follow SocalChef's build from the winner of the Shaffers chassis. but this is how he is running his.

just curious why you chose the poly bushings on the diff side rather than the frame side?

I was thinking the same thing.  Don't you want the give to be on the body/frame side for less jarring?  I am learning so that is the only reason I am asking.

when i do suspensions, if i use poly bushings, i only use them on the frame side to eliminate noise coming through the cycling of the suspension.

also it takes some of the rigidity out of the suspension. a little give is ok.

going down the highway though gets annoying without poly businges.

thats why i was wondering why they were chosen for the axle side.

but if you made the mounts uniform on axle and frame, then swapping them around would be a breeze

i asked alot of pirate4x4 guys and they all run it this way, so thats why, but i see ur point, will be easy to swap if its a problem
