IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
To all Race Teams, Marketing Partners, Media, and Spectators:
The final event of the season, event 6, will be moved to the Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch in Seymour, Missouri. The event date will remain the same (October 4-5, 2008).
The event site in Harrison, Arkansas will still remain a possible event site for seasons to come, but we feel moving the final event to SMORR is the best decision for this year. The season opener was at the Harrison event site and the poor weather turned the race into more of a rock crawling/mud racing event. Due to an exaggerated wet season, and no improvements to the competition area, we needed to move to a site designed for higher speed, longer courses, and bigger jumps.
MOROC has enjoyed very successful events in Seymour. In the best interest of the teams racing, our loyal spectators, and our sponsors, we feel this is the best decision for season finale. The event site in Seymour, the Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch, has a competition area that is not only bigger, but it is geared more towards full throttle racing. In addition, the site is full service with tent camping and electric hook-ups, and a large shower house.
"We are very excited to have the MOROC finals being held at our ranch," explains Brandon Powell, owner of SMORR. "This not only pleases us because we are sponsors, but we really enjoy this type of racing. We foresee a long future hosting MOROC events and we will do whatever it takes to make sure this happens. MOROC's mid-season change in racing format will have us extremely busy the next couple of months creating new side-by-side courses with Nathan. We have great plans for new lines, all new courses, and wild obstacles and jumps. As long as we aren't plagued by more rain, most of the new sections will be ready by the September race with even more surprises and changes to come for the finals.?
The next and final two events of the MOROC racing season will be held at SMORR. Event 5 is tentatively scheduled for September 13-14, 2008 and the finals are 3 weeks later, October 4-5.
