anyone ever go to Jeep Camp?

Our club was originally started to host Camp Jeep.  We built trails at two different locations and then guided them.  All of the Charter Members were part of the crew that did it.  We also help with the same duties at the Jeep Jamboree's held at SMORR.

I would highly recommend it if you have a family.  It is pricey but the amount of stuff that Jeep does at them is astronomical.  It is really cool.  REAL pricey but cool.

I cut sheetmetal for free.  It's fixing it that get's expensive.

thanks for info...but what I'm looking for is more information about the event....I'm new to Jeeping (2007 Jeep Wrangler X) and looking for some FUN!  Been to Fulton several times but this Jeep Camp thing sounds like fun.

I have a couple of girlfriends who will be going with me...we are looking at options of places to stay---don't have a camper but may need to borrow or rent one or stay in hotel around the area.

have you been to Jeep Camp?  2007?

Also looking for fun things to do around the Columbia area as well with other jeepers

You may also look into Jeep Jamboree.  There is one held @ SMORR in April for which some of this club will be guiding.

I personally haven't been to a Camp Jeep, but all those who I have talked to about it have enjoyed the experience.

I thought Mayfield said at the last meeting that Jeep wouldn't have a Camp Jeep this year.
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

Keith,

From what I had read before the meeting Jeff was right in what he said.  I think something changed and now they are having it.  I know the info for this Camp Jeep is way behind in what has normally been released.  From what I've read on other forums they wouldn't even confirm reservations for the event until about 2 weeks ago.

Digraphicx:  Mayfield is one of our clubs members who is the local head of Jeep Jamboree.

that makes sense...but apparently now Jeep is at least acknowleding it....the dates too....

regarding the trip in April to Seymour.....is this for beginning jeepers?  I've owned this 2007 Wrangler X for about a month now...used to have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited but lost it due to divorce (long story).....but love the 2 door model in the 07!

Is the Seymour trip down around Cedar Gap?  about how many people attend?  about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me....so don't know, especially with Gas being what it is.

Have you all ever wondered up here in Columbia area?  GREAT place in Fulton check it out at Capital City Crawlers web site....it is called Potawanime --open 24/7 365 days....fee is $5 each person.......http://community.webshots.com/album/90409932iFDgvH

You can find out more about SMORR at http://smorr.net

Camp Jeep is a much, much bigger event than Jeep Jamboree and offers a lot more things to do. Both events cater to stock and modified Jeeps and both are worthy events to attend.

(click on Camp Jeep Video/DVD on the lower right hand side and you can view a few clips from the DVD)

I think you would have a blast at either event. the main difference is jeep jamboree is ALL about wheeling. you are on the trails from start to end. any where from 20 to 100 jeeps at this event

camp jeep on the other hand is about the the jeep lifestyle. you get 1 trail ride a day usually around 2 to 3 hours. then there is mountain biking, canoing, rock climbing wallsropes courses, driving classes (were you take their jeep through the rocks :) )
cooking classes shopping for jeep goodies concerts. jeep history tent etc..... any were from 2000 to 3000 jeeps at this one

Even though Jeep isn't taking reservations at this time, they still say the dates are good....went ahead and booked a 1 room cabin w/airconditioning/small frig/microwave/front porch/bunk beds, etc....for $44 night at Misty Mountain campgrounds......I'm soooooooo excited!
