Speaker repair
« on: 12/ 4/09 - 08:28PM »
I have a 6" woofer I need re-coned.  Does anyone here fix speakers?  The cone has separated from the chassis of the speaker and I would love to have it fixed if possible.

I have tried most local shops and they don't want to re-cone a speaker.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new 6 inch speaker?

No.

This is a Paradigm speaker.  I have had these for 14 yrs and the others in the set are great so that is why I want to repair this one.  My amp clipped out during a party and blew one of the woofers.

Ok.  I understand now.  Why don't you contact them.  I bet you can get an exact replacement to the one that is blown.  Just $0.02 from someone who doesn't know what he is talking about. :106:

Haha.  It is along the same lines as fixing/looking for jeep parts...hope for the best.   :o

Yea, I have sent them an email, but haven't heard back.  I may be SOL.  The local dealer thinks that my set is too old for them to have a replacement.  Sucks too...b/c the new model that is close to what I have are $375/each ($750/set) now!  Hmmm...maybe some epoxy will work...can't make the thing worse than it is now!   :DJ:
