Well I haven't come up with a permanent name so the rebuild phase will be called Operation Pink in recognition of the last meeting and my gifts.
As the other thread shows I traded with Jimmy and now own a TJ Rubicon.

Oh I am haha... gonna start on it after Hot Springs.

Looking good man... had a chance to get it out on the road yet to see if everything is straight again?
-
No. I've been to busy with other projects. I'm going to attempt to get the corners on so the brake lights can be mounted finally this week.
-
He has been helping me work on my heep so much that he hasn't had time to work on his own.

It's been a long time since I had the smallest jeep in the building!

Looking good, Thats a sweet looking jk(for a jk), The shop looks nice too.
-
Any updates?
-
No real updates.
Installed a Teraflex HD Oil Pan Skid (have bad habit of destroying pans).
Ordered a new transmission mount to hopefully fix my trans shift since mine had turned to dust.
Also had OJTV8CJ draw me up a flat skid (based on some dimensions I gave him), which I'll start install of when I save up some more $. Need a CV rear shaft and new exhaust made when I do it.
-
Whats the thickness of the flat skid?
-
1/4", and all the various angle you see in the bed of the truck is for adding structure to it. Will cut and add it everywhere I can on the top side to give it more structure.
I may be able to get it flat completely since have 2" body lift, if not I'll cut out the plate and build a "dip" in it for the low point of the 241. This would be simple if only had a 231.
-
How much bigger is the 231 over the rubi case? I diggn the angle iron for structure too. On my flat skid I only have one main support in the middle from my crossmember so far its held up alright. Might have to add some bracing to mine in the future. You got a mml?
-
NO MML, and a 231 is smaller which is why it would be no problem. The planetaries for the 241 are larger and the chain is a bit wider.
-
NO MML ? Just not going to use one or you dont like them?
-
Not one on it currently, and I have no intention of putting one on unless when I check my motor mounts they are toast like the trans mount.
-
I did have a 1" JKS MML on there unless you took it off.
-
Are they spacers under the motor mounts? I haven't removed them, just saw the yellow paint of stock motor mounts.
-
No, I either still have the stock mounts or you do in one of the boxes of junk I gave you.
-
Have to take a closer look then.
-
They are true 1" lift mounts on there, got them from JKS... not the spacer kind. If you want the stock mounts for some reason and I do still have them, they're yours.
-
I don't. I have a stock pair of motor mounts sitting here. I glanced at them and really thought they were stock. I'm sure it will be beneficial that they aren't.
-
Lookin' good! How's the project coming along? :106:
-
I hadn't messed with the jeep in about a month or so.
Also have a new Tuffy full sliding rear drawer to put in and then the CJ gate.
Today the jeep got new shoes: 37x13.50-20 Pitbull Rockers
(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/alarose41/37RockstarHD.jpg)
20x10 Rockstar HD's
(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/alarose41/RockstarHD.jpg)
-
I kinda just got a chubby...
-
I'm curious if I'll like it when I pull it out of the garage (hopefully this weekend), and get the star center caps mounted up.
Overshare Bobby!
-
Nice, nothing like bling 20's. How do you like the harbor freight jack? Im looking around for a new jack.
-
One of the few things from HF that is a bargain. With a coupon out of JP mag you can get one for like $75 now.
I've had that one for about 3 years and lift diesels etc with no issue. We've had one at work for 4 years I think and it's finally getting bad in the last 6 months and it's gotten a hell of a workout.
Yep, gotta have the bling man it's a RUBICON after all! LOL
-
Do they lift fast? Any plans for axles? are the 44's gunna hold up with the 37's?
-
They are fast enough for a non-race jack. I build jeeps I'm never in that big of a hurry!
I've realized that I can break anything jeep related wheeling, so I've swapped in alloys hoping they will hold them together for a while. My next purchase will be Yukon Super Joints.
I'm sure at some point it will get 40's and 1 tons (if i keep it).
-
Cool Aaron. Can't wait to see it.
