Anyone running a Dana 300 and a 700R4 ??
« on: 12/ 9/07 - 07:13PM »
I was just curious if anyone is currently running a 700R4 mated to a Dana 300.  I picked up a rig running a Dana 60 front with the setup mentioned above.  It came without driveshafts and I am wondering if anyone is running this setup. If so, can you poste some pics.  I spent some time under mine today and I just don't see how the driveshaft can clear the tranny pan and go to the axle.  I imagine the driveshaft will look pretty odd.

Thanks for looking.

Most people run like an 1.25" OD front shaft.

Ask Kyle as that is the same setup that he is running.  1.25 tubing is the shaft of choice.  Call John's and talk to Brandon.  It is a very popular swap and I bet that John has made a couple hundred if not more of those shafts.
I cut sheetmetal for free.  It's fixing it that get's expensive.

Is it 1 1/4" solid drive shaft?  Will it be able to handle 44's?  If I need to change to a different transmission I will.  Thanks for the help thus far.

1.25" 3/8 wall I think is what Johns makes.  Everything breaks but Kyle is running 42's, and I'm certain his V8 and jeep outpowers and outweighs Eriks old Sami.

Cool.  I will have to give them a call some time this week.
