"no bus"
« on: 08/ 8/08 - 11:09AM »
The last couple of days, the air bag light comes on and my tach and speedometer die. If I push the trip reset, they start working again. Last night though the airbag light came on followed by the check engine light and my odometer said "no bus". I read somewhere that this could be loose or dirty connections on the instrument cluster wiring. Does this sound accurate? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :102:

That's exactly what it is. Cherokee's are famous for it. You might try http://naxja.org for a technical write up on what you need to do.

my 98 xj had a factory recall for the airbag light coming on.  took it to the dealer at no charge.
STEP 1: BUILD IT
STEP 2: BREAK IT
STEP 3: REPEAT
