2.5L head variations?

I have a 96' cherokee with the 2.5L and it is blown,and was wondering if a 2.5L from a mid 80's xj that is carbed would work with my MPFI system.Is there any difference in the cyl heads or camshaft profiles?Thanks

These guys are cheap if you need to buy one and they maybe can tell you for sure. Probably need the casting number off the head 6 to numbers in the springs area.

I bought a head for a 4.3 vortec shipped for 145 and it was ready to bolt on.
