Title: Borla header on a '98 Wrangler 4.0
Post by: Moto on 10/24/09 - 08:13PM
Has anyone ever put one of these on? I currently have a complete Borla system from the stock exhaust header out to the tail with a Magnaflow converter, & I'd like to have the system complete with the header. How much of a pain is it to install, and or would someone be able to refer me to a local shop for installation. This would be a used header, & seems to be in good condition, & installed on a 4.0
Thanks for any advise/help!

My first bit of advise, is to go with a BANKS header. My buddy got borla a few years ago. And they sent 2 that didn't fit correctly. The banks bolted right up.

Its not too bad of a job to do your self. Just spray all the intake and exhaust manifold bolts with pb blaster the night before.

Well, after reading some posts here http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/banks-torque-tube-vs-borla-header-22396.html I'll probably stay with what I have as it's not an issue at this point, & hope it won't be. My '98 TJ now has 87,000 mi.

i guess there some variances in the head on the '98s. my buddy got the wrong one twice. just make sure you know what month your was built, and call Borla direct to get the correct part number.
