Rubicon Ring and Pinions Question
« on: 08/22/07 - 08:12PM »
I've got the 410 ring and pinions that came out of my Rubicon when I upgraded to 4.88's.

My question is... Will they fit in anything besides a Rubicon?

If they do, I need your rear ring and pinion for my 86 CJ D44 axle.

But from Quadratec's site, it looks like they are different.
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

From what I've always been told they do not fit other 44s.  They are a different thickness than standard 44 gears.

Yes, they will work.  They are just a "thick" gear that has a little larger ring gear bolt than normal.

You will have to install them on a 3.73 and numerically lower carrier/locker and you will probably have to ream out the holes in the carrier/locker to 7/16 from 3/8".  Other than that they are just a normal Dana 44 standard cut ring and pinion.  The pinion shaft is the same as any others.
