TJ steering

I have been gathering parts for a steering upgrade on a D44 w/flat knuckles. The over all plan is doing away with the inverted Y and building a parallel steering with Chevy one ton T-rods, similar to Tera Flex's.

My original plan included a T-rod flip, but I noticed that there will not be enough clearance to install/remove passenger t-rod unless drag link joint is removed. My question is: Is it reasonable to remove DL joint to remove t-rod joint in order to gain the 3 inch extra clearance?

Has anyone run into this? It would be easy with hiems, but I drive it on the highway.

I have decided to do the T-rod flip, even though it will be tight.  Red Neck Ram will be in next week, then I'll be able to 'push off' rocks!  8)
