Title: trailers
Post by: Fierogld on 12/24/07 - 02:43PM
hey i have a chance to get some trailer axles off a trailer house.  does any one know if these are worth building a trailer on, what the load rating is or if anyone else has done this before?  any ideas?

the only real problem is the tires. they are only good for a few hundred miles, they are usually cheap but you are alway changing them. in most cases by the time you convert the axle to take a standard wheel's, so you can run regular tires you could have bought normal axle's. we have not even talked about breaks yet either. as far as weight if memory serves me they are 3500lbs axle's

thanx for the reply. the deal kinda fell thruwheni found out how much work it would be to get the axles of the trailers. apparently tehy have some cheap bearings and a crappy hub setup. i decided that a $1100 trailer is cheap enough.
