front end noise
« on: 04/ 5/09 - 02:03AM »
So my jeep has devolped this "pop" in the front left corner. When I take off I feel a pop from the front, and actually feel the jeep shift to the back. And when I brake, same sound, but a shift to the front. Speed bumps, train tracks, and rough roads don't casue any sounds. Any opinions? Ball joints?

I have tried grabing and pulling on everything. I can't duplicate the sound without driving it. Everything seems to be tight. It does have a 3 inch lift with all adjustable control arms with stock track bars and steering.

have you done anything to the jeep lately or changed anything? I had a bad popping noise coming from what sounded like the front, ened up being a loose yoke nut and under torque it would pop. sounded like crap and was a little scary.....

Good luck

It might sound crazy but check your body mounts. I had the same problem and tightened them up and it fixed it.

Check the jam nit on the control arms and trackbar. Mine worked loose before.
