My 30's coming together...
« on: 04/12/09 - 03:05AM »
After bending the front 30, I decided that was not going to happen with the one I am putting back in. While it is (unfortunately) still going to be a 30, it should be a nice upgrade. It has 4.88's, ARB's, and has been built up with a sleeve on the inside of the axle tubes, a truss on the long side, and gussets on the C's. One of my buddies did the welding, and here are a few photos of my busy day...

Looks like a lot of the sleeve sticking out... have you put the shaft & outers on to see if it will clearn?  Normally the machined part of the yoke rests against the inside of the tube.

Nice work, that is one polished t... i mean 30!

Yeah... it sticksout just far enough for a needle grease zerk. I haven't fit the axle yet but it looks loke it should fit OK.

and yes... it's still a polished turd... just highly polished.

I finally got around to putting them in this week. The 4.88's make a world of difference, and all I have left to do is get a compressor and hook up the ARB's. That... and tune my CB!  8)

Ross which compressor are you wanting, going with an ARB or something else?

After talking with enough of you guys, I think I have settled on a Viair setup.
