how screwed am i?

so im in the process of installing my body lift. and i have already droken off 2 body mount bolts! they are boken off right where the threads start.

i have no idea how to get these out! how unsafe is my jeep going to be with missing 2 body mounts? the 2 that have broke, are the one right under the passenger door, and the one to the bacl of the drivers door!

please help me!!!

Your prison like screwed!

Best way to get them out is either weld nut to them and spin them out or cut a hole in the body and break off old nut and weld new one in place and then reseal body.

That's how I fixed the one behind the drivers door. Used a hole saw to cut out the little dome and then a grinder to get the nut off. It was a real pain.

how hard is it to get the nut off once you have access to it?

It took a lot of grinding, drilling, and hammer and chisel to get it off. The best method seemed to be drill it out from the bottom up but our drill bit burned up about halfway through.

Brian, did your jeep come from a very rust prone area? When I did my 1" bl on my 90 yj none of the bolts broke and they weren't too bad. I don't think mine were ever taken off before I had it either.

as far as i know the jeep was purchaced here new. i know its been is springfield since 2003.
