Tire Size
« on: 11/23/11 - 01:36PM »
Since we will be putting a lift in my jeep in a few weeks I was thinking about going up in tire size.  I will end up with a 1.25" BL and 1.75" Coil spacers, this will total 3".  I have read on a few sites that you need 4" of lift for 33" tires.  I currently run 31" tires and have thought about going to 33x12.50 or 33x10.50 after the lift.  I know I will be a bit more sluggish on the highway but I don?t do much highway driving.  I am more worried about any damage I would do to the Jeep or the tires by going up in size.  If I do I would go with some Cragar wheels with 4" of backspacing.

What are everyone?s thoughts on 3? of lift and 33? tires?  I could always extend the bump stops a bit to ensure I don?t stuff a tire too far up into the fender well.
Take it out and play with it!

I ran 33's on a 3 inch kit and with proper bump stops you won't have any trouble at all.  I didn't run any bumpstops just because I didn't care about getting into the front fenders.
