Suggestions for Engine replacement
« on: 07/27/10 - 08:48PM »
I have a buddy that just bought a used 2005 or 6 Jeep Liberty. He was on a road trip on threw a rod and blew the engine. :firedevil: I'm not a mechanic so if I described any of this incorrectly, cut me some slack

Looking for suggestions on local places in Springfield that are reputable and do good work on engines or can do an engine replacement on his Liberty.

Thanks!!!

Everyonce in a while you'll see wrecked KJ's on Craigslist.  Might get a decent engine there.  Who to install?  Don't know about that.
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

i got an ATK reman for my wrangler. kinda pricey, but it came with a 100,000 mile warranty. i had a small shop on atlantic install it. the shop is called Elvins Garage. they have always done great work for me and my dad for cheap.

Good luck on finding a salvage motor. Those things are blowing motors so fast the salvage yards can't keep up. JK's will prob be the same way soon. Had to get rid of my JK, using 4 qts. of oil between changes, with 36,000 mi. on it.
