Jeep with wheels like mine 1/2 black:  (awesome jeep)

or do the opposite, and just paint the spokes...

I would think the spokes are more subject to getting scratched on the trail... so there would be constant repainting needed.

I'd paint them all black, because I'm lazy, but they would look good the way you suggested.  Paint 'em.

I've learned that being OCD a Off-Roadin don't go together very well. :102: I hate body damage!!!

Lots of welding.  Easier way is to use fasteners to attach plate to the tubing.  Mine however are fully welded using 10guage material.  The pipe is easy to bend using an elcheapo HF bender.

I have a conduit bender, we use it for comerical wireing. I figured i'd just try that if I cant come up with the money.
