I guess you have to reload each barrell individually?

I'm not sure how the loading of rounds works... that itself would be an engineering  marvel.

i watched that on digg, they only shot a few rounds.  imagine using those in a war, what would that cost us????

They could make the slugs out of gold and using that gun would still be more cost efficient than firing a Tomahawk Cruise Missile.

But then again a war is never done on a cost benefit analysis.

well i actually meant what would that cost us, 1,000,000 rounds in a few seconds

dead is dead and more rounds doesnt make you any deader, or does it?

i think it is cool, would hate to be the one trying to load it or pack it around as a crew served.

i just wonder what we need all those rounds per minute for, or is it just a "we can do it" thing

This isn't an American Military gun, it's a prototype from MetalStorm which is an Aussie Company... and in my opinion it is worthless...other than for a "friggin cool" conversation peice.... and it is that. Could you imagine, BBQ'ing out back with your buds... "Hey guys, you see that cat over there...." hehe .. "What cat?"   .. "nevermind it's gone now." :brows:

The reason they only fire it in short burst is because they can't fire it for any extended period of time with out melting/warping the barrels which would then cause it to explode with that many rounds being pushed through, plus it only holds 180 rounds, so this gun would never actually shoot 1,000,000 in a minute. They just took their 5 second figure and did the math for a minute.

You would definitey have to change out some barrels long before you ever got to a million rounds.
