Title: Cardan Joint on Front Drive Shaft of TJ
Post by: letsdrag on 10/17/16 - 08:36PM
Does anyone have any experience changing out the double cardan joint on a TJ front drive shaft. Ujoints are good but cardan joint is bad. Think would just have to take out onne Ujoint to get to part we need to but have never messed with one before. I would be willing to pay for some help.

I took mine to powertrain industries  and had them do it,  if you have press it will make it easier to do.

Depends on whether it is the pin or the socket that is broken. If the pin broken you'll have to cut it off the driveshaft.  It is a little tricky to reassemble, but if careful if you can do a u-joint you can do it.

Agreed,   I think powertrain charged me 200 to rebuild my driveshaft.
