Trail Rides, Meetings & Events / OJT Shoot at Andy Dalton 3/16
« Last post by Mo Printer on 03/ 8/19 - 12:02PM »
I heard about the Shooting Day at Andy Dalton at the meeting last night.  I should have spoke up, but didn't.  I am a Ranger Officer for USPSA and would be more than happy to give assistance to anyone interested.  I also have quite an assortment of pistols & rifles if anybody would like to try different styles or calibers.  I don't do the Book of Faces (ya, I know) but feel free to give me a call or email me if you have any questions.  I also have a membership at the Bass Pro indoor range if you wanted to get any info or practice before the shoot.

For those who have not shot before but want to, it is a lot of fun, don't be intimidated.  Let's do this!

Steve,
I was in the Garrison area and also GladeTop just this past Saturday.  Looks like pretty much all of the trails are still open and the main roads were in good shape.  We drove a bunch of the smaller trails and there is some downed trees from the ice storm, but if they take a saw, they should be fine.  They can run everything down there from really smooth main roads to some pretty good wheeling on the smaller trails.

Have Fun!

I don't know my way around down in Glade top that well.  Have always just followed the leader.  However, I do know the Garrison area quite well.  A lot of side by sides and ATVs use the area and I have heard they have been run off by the Forest Service numerous times.  You are not supposed to drive on non-numbered roads.  As far as I am concerned, as long as you tread lightly and stay out of the creeks except when crossing you ought to be fine.  If a trail has trees felled across it, that probably has been done by the Forest Service to keep people out so I say stay off those roads.  As always take trash bags with you.  You will probably fill them up with other peoples trash.  Lets give the club a good reputation.

We've got some Oklahoma friends who will be here Feb. 22-24 looking to do some wheeling (they wanted to go to SMORR but they won't be open until 3/1-ish).
Was thinking of a light run on Friday to Garrison/Chadwick area, then Saturday sending them to Glade Top.
We haven't been to either area in a few years.  Any words of wisdom/'rules' we need to be aware of?
Any info would be much appreciated!
