Is a 285/70 the same size as a 32x11.5

Nope...if you are using a 15" rim it is 30.7

Just use the handy dandy conversion at the bottom of this web page:

a 285 on a 17" wheel is equal to a 33" i believe, or thats what i've been lead to believe
