Whiteside FAB tube fenders
i finally got started on these, using 1 3/4 tube.
heres the pics

got the tube bent up, and welded together...

mocked up, used some small angle iron for the firewall mount, and will mount to the grill hoop.. have to trim hood some, gave them the most clearance i could

frontal view

i am unsure on how to skin them, some light steel and weld and grind smooth, or rivit on, will prolly weld and grind smooth for a nice look!

look nice, are you going to do flat steel or diamond plate?

I think flat would look really nice.

looks good, i like using 18 ga flat sheet metal for skinning them

if you make your template right you can inset it a bit and it will be flat after welding.  with that thinof metal, an air nibbler works really nice and quick for making the cut.  should you need one, i could let you borrow mine for a day

thanks, but comming to borrow it from tulsa, would be heck of a borrow.
i got them almost finished, here is some pics, due to having them higher i had to lower the top skin, and i really like how it turned out.

got pass. side basically done, the side panel needs to be sanded down smooth and repainted, i just threw a coat on so it would look better than it did.
the top panel is 1/4inch for strengh, stand sit, etc...
i got it to bare metal and cleared it, i like how it looks.
