Ya think a 97-01 Xj Center console will work in my 88 Xj?

No cup holders on those long road trips sucks! I was wondering if the newer Xj console (shifter end and e brake handle) will fit in my 88, then i would have cup holders and not have to search around for my moutain dew while driving.

it will fit. you will have to change the bracket for the E Brake handle. it sits a little close to the driver's seat. Have you looked at after market cup holders? I know Quadratec has some.

Thats awsome! I looked and only saw some cheap ones that set above the E brake, but i will look again.

console 001console 002that maybe the only one they have. my 93 came with factory cupholder that hangs off the passingerside of the console. See if you console has these 3 mounting points and you might beable to find this cupholder.

that might explain the holes drilled in the side of the console when i bought it. So i mounted my CB there! Thanks for the idea tho
