THE Dually.
« on: 08/14/09 - 03:20PM »
Finally, I got the dually going again.

After completely shelling the front end, we decided that a solid axle was due for the Chevrolet.

D60 HP Kingpin front.
D70HD rear
5.13 gears
AGR ported steering box
Vortec 454
4L80
37" Wrangler MTs front with 12 bolt Hummer beadlocks/runflats.
37" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip (for now) in the rear.

This truck measures 102" in width (max legal) and yes, the bumpers are legal height and it passes inspection with the Highway Patrol.

Anyway, this is not a show truck.  I built this thing to work/pull.

Still have some custom bumpers planned, new paint, hydro assist steering, etc.  But at least it is going again.

Below is a stock shot vs Liberty, in progress, and current.

I'm glad its done, it is such a damn teaser to see it at my house and not drive it.  it handles much better than before.

The bumpers will be done some time this winter, for no he has to drive the piss out of it and enjoy.
