October 25, 2008 - 7th Annual Halloween Run to Chadwick

We will leave Murfins market in Ozark at 6:00ish This is a NIGHT RUN and the trails at Chadwick are all stock. so bring the family wear a costume if you wish. See you there.

Murfins has given us permision to be there. they do ask that we park to the northeast of the lot as to give their custemers parking. that was the isue last year.

the trails are pretty mild, at least before the spring rains they were. this is one of my favorite runs of the year

Wow, I can't believe it's been a year since I have been out with the group!  Last year I blew a tire and grabbed the wrong battery for my old Chero. Had to cut out way to early.  Been through a couple of FSJ's since then. 

Actually just towed a rust bucket 401 TH400 Lo Range QT rig home from St louis tonight.  I was going to rip it apart ASAP to get the 401 and sell the rest of the good stuff before scrapping.  NOW, I may wait a few weeks and do my favorite Chadwick run of the year in this heap!  Thought about doing SMORR tomorrow, but I have a couple of things to fix before I would hit the trails... this thing runs like a scalded dog, but stops like a planet!  That's what got me my flat tire last year... I got to close to George and used a rock to assure I wouldn't be buying a new bumper for his Liberty and the rock did more than just slow me down!  That's what I get for tailgating!

It's like Ranch Road; but a lot narrower and in the dark... spooky with all kinds of creepy crawly things.  >:D

I'm supposed to meet some friends down at Hercules Glades @midnightish for a backpacking trip.. I think I can still come do this beforehand.

So are you going to leave the windows up this year Jimmy?  Don't want anything to freeload a ride and generate that much NOISE again!

Also JeeperGuy, if your 4wd works you will have NO trouble at Chadwick, just dont' be the first one to try a mudhole.

Hey Roger, have you been down there recently?  Last time I was there was in the spring/early summer, and there were some trees down over the trails around clay hill.  I was thinking about running down there sometime Saturday before the run to see if everything was cleared off.  You or anyone else interested?  This would be a quick run through, not an all day thing.
